Tips for Time Management this New Year:
The holiday season can be one of the most hectic times of the year for many of us. Between making sure the holidays are well spent but also trying to get as much done, it can be very stressful. Learning to manage your time can easily resolve this issue and get you ready for a new beginning this 2021. Although the past few weeks may have felt as if you were all over the place, you’ll have no problem starting the new year on the right foot with the following tips:
- Make a List: Start de-stressing yourself from the holidays by making a list of everything you need to get done. This will help you visualize your priorities by listing what needs to be done and actually organizes your thoughts. This step will take you no more than 10 minutes and can be done on a blank or lined sheet of paper.
- Create a Schedule: There are many ways to create a schedule to get organized for this new year. You can either purchase a planner or create your own. Below I have attached a picture of the planner I bought at the beginning of 2020 from Michael’s for $17.99. Planners can be pricey so if you’d rather save a little more these first few weeks of the new year, I recommend purchasing planning sheets or creating your own. Amazon offers planning sheets for as little as $9.99. These planning sheets are what I recommend if you like individual sheets of paper to be able to fill out and place in a binder or folder. You can create these yourself on Microsoft Office Word and type or print them to fill out. By creating a schedule for your “To Do” list, you can organize dates and times of what you need to get done.
- Set deadlines: If you have certain goals you want to accomplish or assignments that need to be done, set your deadlines. This will be your guide to accomplishing tasks quickly and gives you ample time to get other things done.
- Don't over schedule: The idea of learning to manage your time for the new year is so that you can be at peace. Don't over do it by scheduling too many tasks for a single day because you'll end up feeling overwhelmed and won't get anything done. Pace yourself while adhering to deadlines and you'll see how much more productive you'll be.
- Don't forget to schedule "You Time": This is an essential time that should be somewhere on your schedule. By dedicating at least one day a week to you, it will give you the strength to keep pushing yourself to do your best every single day. Drinking some tea or coffee, doing a face mask, and just taking some time to relax will go a long way.
Hopefully these five tips will give you an idea of how to manage your time this new year. Comment down below your thoughts or any tips you'd like to add that help you manage your time (:
This can help me stay organized and be prepared. This is such a great jewelry website!
I find that its always more joyful to create your own customized planner that is unique to the week and your plans. If you have enough time and creativity, I think it would definitely be worth it.@secretplanningsociety on instagram is a perfect example of this. Also, I love this new blog and watching lovely Larrosa become this thing that is going to take over 2021.
I would add that alarms are optional if you crunch on time a lot.
